Environmental Stewardship isn’t just part of our values but
rather part of Consorta’s culture. Environmental initiatives from
education, promotion, advocacy and environmentally preferable
purchasing (EPP) are all part of Consorta’s overall commitment to
environmental stewardship.
The goal of Consorta’s environmental program is to encourage and
increase the use of environmentally preferable products and
services. Purchasing is an effective area for improving the
environmental performance and impact on health care. Environmentally
responsible purchasing can help hospitals:
- Significantly lessen their impact on the environment.
- Reduce costs due to lower overhead, avoided waste disposal
and decreased liability costs.
- Lower occupational health costs.
- Provide a healthier environment for patients, workers and
