Contrast Induced Acute Kidney Injury 

 

The definition, clinical significance, and long term consequences of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CIAKI) will be presented. Identification of patients at high risk for CIAKI and strategies to minimize this risk will be discussed.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand acute kidney injury (AKI).

  2. Understand the relationship between AKI and contrast media in relation to adverse events.

  3. Learn to prevent CIAKI in at-risk patients.
